Storyboard Text

  • symbol
  • the lottery
  • Images
  • Figures of speech
  • This black box symbolizes death and that anyone can die because any paper that comes out of the box can have a black dot on it which aslo symbolizes death and no one knows who will die (get stones thrown at them) until everyone opens their slip
  • Tone and Theme
  • "Clear and sunny with fresh warmth of a summer day" I chose this as images because it helps me understand and the way it is described it gives me a clear visual of how nice it was outside the day of the lottery
  •
  • "its was not fair Tessie said" (page 30) Line 245 (Figure of speech) Ad Hominem Tessie is arguing with the fact that she got the black dot on her slip of paper because A ad hominem is a argument or a reaction directed against a person
  •
  • "although the villagers had forgotten the ritual and lost the original box they remembered to use stones" Line 311 -312 (page 34) This is a theme of tradition and values because the peoples tradition is the lottery and whoever gets a black mark on their paper gets stones thrown at them until death and that is their tradition
