When Jeanette was very young she was in the car with her family going to battle mountain. Her dad was speeding and he took the turn too fast and she fell right out of the car. While she was on the side of the road she thought her parents would notice and come back for her but they didn't. So she began walking on the side of the road until they found her. She felt disappointed in her family because she thought they for sure would've came back for her right away.
When i was in the 4th grade my mom would pick me up from school everyday after she would get off of work. One day she had to stay at work later because they were understaffed so she couldn't pick me up. She was suppose to tell my Dad to come pick me up but she forgot. So there i am sitting in school 2 hours afterwards waiting for a ride. I was sad because i didn't think my family would really forget about me. They finally told me to call my dad and he had to leave work and come get me.
Jeanette and her family moved very often. They lived in Arizona, Nevada, California, West Virginia, and New York. This made life stressful especially on Jeanette because of the fact that she always saw Pheonix as her real home. This picture represents her because she would view the road many times in her life. This also could have a toll on her life in general because she never had a sense of a real home life.
I have lived in the same blue house on rosewood lane for all 17 years of my life. My parents moved in 18 years ago and i was born one year after that. This house has made me who I am today because it gave me a good childhood and all years of my life so far. Home life is important in being successful and without it you could end up having a life like jeanettes.
When Jeanette was younger her mom never really paid attention to her. She was left alone to do many things a kid of that age should not do. One of those things were cooking. So one day she was cooking hot dogs and her dress caught on fire sending her to the hospital. However, the hospital life made jeanette more happy then the life she would live at home. The nurses were nice to her, she got meals, and everything was just better for her and she was actually happy. This is one of the only times she actually seemed happy in the book.
When i was about 6 years old me and my dad were playing catch with the football in the house. My mom told us to stop before someone got hurt but we didn't care. Soon enough i ended up falling and hitting my head on the corner of the stairs cracking my head open. We had to go to the hospital and i absolutely hated it. I hated the doctors the atmosphere, everything. This is the complete opposite feeling that jeanette had in the hospital and i can see why. It just goes to show a good home life can have a huge impact on your outlooks of certain situations.
