The towns sprang up quickly during the California Rush of 1849. Miners and prospectors entered the state of Nevada and California in the search of gold.
Boom Towns and Ghost Towns
I can't wait to find the precious gold!!
*The term boomtown was used since this town instantly blew up with more and more people entering and mining to find gold.
The town began to grow with the population and the industry.
These became boomtowns. Miners, merchants, etc.. began to build buildings around the mine sites.
Once no more gold was found, these towns were abandoned and are now called Ghost Towns since no has been there in years.
