John Oakhurst DIRECT: He doesn't drink because it messes up his gambling. He beat Tom then gave his money back because the kid was too innocent. INDIRECT: the people that kicked him out the town called him a gambler. Dynamic character because he went from being a gambler to being the leader of the outcast and took care of them (sorta).
Mother Shipton DIRECT: she likes to do evil to others. she takes care of Piney. INDIRECT: "The malevolent Mother Shipton." she died for Piney by giving her the last food. Dynamic character because she goes from liking to do evil to others to taking care of Piney and giving her the last of her food so she would starve and Piney wouldn't
Uncle Billy DIRECT: He gets drunk the first night at camp. He steals the mules. INDIRECT: He is a thief and a drunk. Static character. He was a thief and a drunk and in the end stayed that way.
