Germany sinks the US Lusitania, killing 1,000 neutral Americans on board
Germany refuses to stop unrestricted submarine warfare on the US, despite President Wilson's warnings
Germany issued the Sussex Pledge, promising not to bomb any more US ships without warning
Wilson intercepted a message from German foreign minister, Arthur Zimmermann, going to Mexico promising Mexico American land if they fought the US with Germany
Because of all this, Germany finally provokes the US enough and Wilson decides to enter the US into World War I
