  • I will develop a draft and send it to everyone for feedback by Monday
  • In meeting with the Associate Principal for 7 + 8, we determined a need for standardisation of the IEP process.
  • I called a meeting with all of the key staff, Student Services Managers for all years, the SAER Coordinator, and the Learning Support Coordinator. We all brought resources we had from our school and others.
  • Having discussed the pros and cons of existing IEPs, it was decided that we needed to develop a standard template. We drafted some ideas, discussing the school/student specific needs and aligned this with the existing Learning Difficulty Plans.
  • IEP + Dyslexia PD
  • Taking the ideas discussed into consideration and combining some of existing IEP formats, I created a draft version which I sent to the meeting member to review.
  • Once I had applied the feedback, I took the template to Senior Staff and asked the HODs to review the document. Each HOD returned the document, either signed off or with some recommendations.
  • Once the template was approved and finalised, an email was sent to all staff. The email included the IEP with an overview/instructions to be discussed in Learning Area meetings, as well as an invitation to a school wide PD.
