  • Taxes are needed to be raised for our debt for the French and Indian war.
  • Pamphlets!!
  • We should tax newspapers and marriage license.
  • TAXES WILL GROW EVEN MORE AND WE HAVE NO SAY!!!
  • Taxable goods such as glass, lead, and tea should be raised.
  • Townshend Act 1767
  • We as the English merchants will pay indirect tax on the colonists.
  • Revenue is needed to be raised on colonists. Taxable goods and indirect taxing.
  • FIRE!!!!
  • Boston Massacre 1770

  • Items such as newspapers, marriage license, playing cards, and pamphlets were raised in tax to pay for the debt of the French and Indian War. Colonists were angry because they no say in this decision.
  • Boston Tea Party 1773
  • You'll pay for this!!!
  • Another taxing including taxable goods such as glass, lead, and tea and indirect taxing by the English merchants who then raised prizes on colonists.Taxing was raised to raise revenue from the colonists. Colonists recognized more taxing and became even more angry.

  • A large crowd of British Soldiers and British citizens stationed in front of the Customs House. The large crowd started to argue and a shot was fired and all chaos broke loose. Five colonists died as a result in the shooting, and many others. Colonists were extremely angry, they blamed British soldiers for tried murder and demanded the king to remove all Boston soldiers.

  • The Tea Act forced colonists to only buy tea from England, protestors raided several British ships and dumped hundreds of chest into the harbor. Colonists were angry because they could no longer buy/drink whatever they wanted although taxes were lowered.

  • Punishment over the Boston Tea Party included Boston town meetings were prohibited, Boston legislature was not allowed to meet, Bostons port was closed, and military rule was imposed. Colonists were angry because of the punishment that was paid and having to be punished with business as well was way worse for them than any taxes imposed on them.
  • Parliament rejected every request made by the First Continental Congress. Troops then left Boston to look for stockpile of colonial weapons. Colonists were angry because shots were fired and they were ready for war.
