Area is the measurement of surface. Perimeter is the total distance around a surface or shape. A cylinder has one curved side that makes up the entire body and two circular faces. A prism is a geometric figure with two congruent faces and congruent sides. A cone is a figure with a circular base combined with a curved side that ends at a point.
A sphere is a figure with no sides, points, or lines and is shaped like a ball. A cube is a figure that is made up of six congruent square sides. A triangular pyramid is a figure with a triangle for a base and three congruent triangles for sides. A square pyramid has a square for a base and four congruent triangles for sides. Volume is the measurement for the total amount of space something occupies.
Altitude is the length of a line that goes to a side of a figure to its vertex. The radius of a circle is the distance from the circumference to the center of a circle. The diameter of a circle is the measure of how long the inside of a circle is or twice the length of the radius. Density is the measurement of mass in a unit of volume. Mass is the measurement of how much stuff or matter something is made up of.
