Storyboard Text

  • Buses were usually segregated, with blacks at the back and whites would usually sit in the front. However if there were no seats left for the whites, then they could ask the blacks to move in order to get their seat
  • No sir! i'm just like you! I have had a long day at work and am quite tired
  • Rosa parks had just finished a long day at work, and took a seat on the bus. Minutes later a white man came on, and as of the rules, told her to get up. Rosa parks refused. This went on for a long period of time
  • Get out and give me your seat!!
  • After a while of Rosa parks refusing to get up, the police were called. This resulted in Rosa getting arrested
  • justice for blacks
  • Rosa parks then started a boycott, where all blacks were supposed to stop using the bus. They would also march and protest!
  • I am just like you
  • End segregation!!
  • Freedom? yes!
  • Rosa parks did this, because she knew that since black people would stop using the bus, it's incomes would decrease. This was because black people were the main customers. She knew that by doing that the government would be forced to end segregation
  • After many weeks of protesting, the government finally gave in! and segregation became illegal throughout the whole country
