The slaves were kept under deck on their long journey to America. Under deck slaves were tightly squeaked next to each other to make sure they could fit as many people as possible.
On the ship
" You are lucky you get food!"
When they got to America they were fixed up to look their best because it was time to be sold to plantation owners. The people made the slaves look their best because owners wanted slaves that were able to work the most and best possible.
Working for 4-7 years
Once the slaves were bought they were forced to work on plantations for the rest of their lives. When working on farms they were beaten by there owners making their lives miserable.
Start of new life
When the servants were taken to America they had to pay for the trip. The trip there was not something you would want to pay for. They had to be under deck for weeks in terrible conditions.
"I have to pay to live down here in these conditions for weeks!!!"
The servants signed a contract to work for 4-7 year or until they are 21. During there working year they work on farms and services around the house that the owner needs to be done.
