  • When the manciple of the local university becomes ill, the miller takes the the opportunity to steal more flour than usual from it, prompting John and Aleyn to journey to the mill to prevent it from happening again.

  • John and Aleyn announce their attention to watch the cor being ground. The miller promises himself that he'll manage to cheat them away.

  • The clerks ask to spend the night at the miller's house and bed down with the family in their shared sleeping quarters.

  • Aleyn has sex with the miller's daughter and John has sex with he miller's wife
  • The miller leaps out of bed raging. His wife mistakes him for a clerk and strikes him over the head. The Clerks beat him unconscious.
