  • Good morning class! If you could all take a look at the white board for a second we can get our day started off! My favorite food is spaghetti which has three key components pasta, sauced cheese. Each of these ingredients come from the planet.
  • What are some of your favorite meals? Where do they come from?
  • Steak is a meat that comes from a Cow. A cow is a herbivore that eats grass, so does a steak come from a cow or the grass?
  • Alright, let's divide up into small groups and list our favorite foods and figure out what makes these components, and where those components come from wither that be a plant or an animal!
  • We found out that Tofu is made from soybeans, which is a plant!
  • We found that steak comes from a cow, but the cows eat grass, and so it really come from the grass.
  • Create a menu of everyone's favorite foods and a diagram showing where they come from!
  • I'm going to try and bring in a little information about alterantive foos choices for students with diet preferences
  • How are we doing class? Once everyone has made a diagram/food chain on their poster each group will need to choose a representative to display their findings!
  • I love french fries, but they have so many carbohydrates in them have you ever tried fried zucchini?
  • Alright group 1 whats one item that you found that came from plants, and group 2 whats one item you found that came from an animal?
  • Yes! Technically every food comes from plants, but you could look even farther and see that every plant needs sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to thrive!
