Hi, my name is Professor Drake. I am a professor of History and Culture. We are going to learn about the emergence of Korea.
Korea is a mountainous region, that is slightly bigger than the state of Minnesota. Korea was governed by aristocratic families and hereditary monarchy.
Due to the Mongols, Korea split into three separate kingdoms; the Koguryo to the North, Paekche to the Southwest, and Silla to the Southeast.
In Korea the main religion was Buddhism.
Korea adopted Chinese political institutions in order to unify it's territory and remained in power for four hundred years.
The Mongols forced Koreans to build ships for Kublai Khan's invasion of Japan. Mongols terrorized the Korean people.
