"Nobody else was there except two girls who were sitting down front. Dally eyed them cooly, then walked down the aisle and sat right behind them," (pg.20). Dally, Johnny, and Ponyboy meet two soc girls named Cherry and Marcia at the Nightly-Double drive-in movie theater.
"Nobody but Soda could really get me talking. Till I met Cherry Valance. I don't know why I could talk to her; maybe for the same reason she could talk to me," (pg.39). In this chapter, Cherry and Ponyboy develop a friendship by opening up to each other.
"...the Soc caught my arm and twisted it behind my back and shoved into the fountain...I'm dying, I thought what happened to Johnny," (pg.56). Ponyboy and Johnny headed to the park where some Socs arrived. They fought which led to Johnny killing one of the Socs, Bob.
"The hill the church was on dropped off suddenly about twenty feet from the back door, and you could see for miles and miles," (pg.69). Johnny and Ponyboy hid in an old church for a couple of days so the cops wouldn't find them.
