It was another lab night when it happened. Dmitri was working on his latest project, gene mutation and radiation. He was walking back to his desk, holding his new samples when he tripped and smashed the chemicals. The glass shards went into his arms and hands. Dmitri passed out from the new chemicals in his bloodstream. Oh no.
The remaining liquid contents has spilled onto the some wires. These wires that lead to the nuclear reactor that powered the whole lab. Dmitri was starting to wake up and before he could do anything, there was a massive, loud explosion. The chemicals reacted with the radiation causing the release of Alpha particles, Beta particles and Gamma rays.
The explosion and the radiation coursing through Dmitri's veins caused him to pass out again. In the background Dmitri could hear sirens. Next time he woke up, he was in a hospital bed, attached to wires and tubes. He wasn't feeling sick at all but he was in great distress when he remembered earlier that night.
He ripped out all the wires attached to him and ran to the door but a nurse walked in and tried to stop him from leaving as he was not well enough. He ran straight past her and went to the exit doors. He burst out the doors and kept running without turning around. He needed to get home.
Dmitri decided he needed to take a shower to clear his thoughts. He noticed he had more muscle and that he was a little bit taller. He thought of the possibilities from the radiation he was exposed to. Was it possible to gain super powers from the Alpha particles, Beta particles and Gamma rays? What did this mean for Dmitri?
Dmitri stayed up all night reading about radiation and mutation. He then did experiments to test his new abilities. From his results, he found out his eyes can shoot laser beams (Beta), a poisonous gas that comes out of his fingertips (Alpha) and super strength (Gamma). All the powers were gained from the radioactive chemicals mixing with the nuclear reactor.
