Storyboard Text

  • Come on now boy, it's seven thirty! (Hansberry 25)
  • For the benefits of his family members, Travis, due to his young age, is forced to make some sacrifices. For one, the living room is his bedroom, and for another, he has to wake up at 7:30 to shower before everyone else.
  • The younger family receives the check given to them for Big Walter's death, and even Travis can't believe his eyes. They knew it was coming, but seeing it in real life hit them with realization in the form of a train.
  • Gaalee, Grandma, you're rich! (Hansberry 69)
  • Walter and Ruth's marriage may as well need a gravestone for it to be any more dead. Walter won't stop verbally and mentally attacking Ruth, and she is turning weak.
  • Why? You want to know why?
  • *tension*
  • Oh, Walter... Honey, why can't you stop fighting me? (Hansberry 85)
  • After Walter learns that he is going to get a share of the check for whatever purposes he may please, he is beyond delighted. He is so ecstatic after his past period of distress, Travis questions wether or not he may be drunk.
  • What's the matter daddy? You drunk? (Hansberry 107)
  • After what seemed like the road to a happy ending, things take a major turn. Walter gave his entire share of mama's money, plus Beneatha's share, to Willy. As Bobo comes to claim, Willy is nowhere to be found, along with the money.
  • All of it... It's all gone... (Hansberry 124)
  • Walter has taken Beneatha's last straw and thrown it out of the window. After having done so much wrong doing, Walter has lost all the tiniest bit of respect that Beneatha once had for him.
  • Love him? There's nothing left to love. (Hansberry 145)
