• WELCOME
• Welcome today to my short class video providing help on how to translate a function of a graph up.
• Lets start to show you in a more clear way an example to understand the concept better. Lets say we have the linear function y=2x+3 which we will call equation A.
• Y=2x+3
• first lets make sure this is an actual function. A linear function has always a form of y=f(x)=a+bx
• Y=2x+3
• oh look, our function those have that!
• *I appear on screen in front of board looking at camera. waving while introducing the concept*
• *XY Plane will go here I couldn't graph it here*
• *Turns around to face board and write the example equation*
• Ok, now that we finished graphing equation A we continue. In order to vertically translate our function 2 units we must add these two units to the y-intercept of our equation.
• *XY Plane will go here I couldn't graph it here*
• This results in Y=2x+5 Now lets graph equation B in the same XY plane so we can appreciate the vertical movement.
• *XY Plane with both function equations on them*
• See? This is the final answer for this algebraic problem! It was simple and clear, thanks for watching. Until next time!

• lets say we want to vertically translate this function by a factor of two units. First lets graph the function.
