  • Came Alive: Dalton being able to talk and see me through video chat. Due to living in Texas. Something that didn't work is, the reading section was difficult, as it was through video chat and not in person.

  • Okay, I sent over some passages , I want you to start with the first reading.
  • Ah-ha Moment: Figuring out that he was able to read at 5th grade level without much assistance. Something that went well: He was surprised, he had read so much. He had, had a delay in reading comprehension in the past.
  • okay, I will start with the one about Jake.
  • Dalton was read three different passages. As he read these, I documented his reading. Then we focused on some comprehension questions. More is on the next slide. Something to change: Find something that is more interest to him. Maybe more on building and structure.

  • Come Alive Moment: I realized this passage was not of any interest to him. I encouraged him to pick the next passage. He chose a passage about Henry Ford.

  • Over all, the task was completed, and the IRI was completed. Dalton asked if we could meet again, to read some more on our history.
  • Great! Thank you for your help, this evening.. Let's meet again, next week to talk about some more history!
