I was the firstborn. My parents communicated to me that I could be and do anything. I believed them and I wanted tone with them both all the time.
My younger sister was born, and so I became more attached to my father. Mom was busy with the baby.
I found it easier to befriend boys because I stuck with my dad so much in this time. It just made me more comfortable
(My best friend Pinson.)
My younger sister became interested in sports. My dad had always been very athletic, so she became attached to him.
I withdrew from my parents in late middle school and early high school. I was ready to be on my own and attach to new people.
Now that I am in college, I have a healthy balance between male and female friends. I even have a boyfriend.
I visit home sometimes, and I communicate with both my mom and dad regularly while away in college. It is healthier now that I'm on my own.
