  • Good morning class! I hope all of you are doing well so far today! We are going to start off the day by working with fractions. 
  • That's right! Ms. Holly and myself are each going to take a group of you and teach you how to add fractions.  
  • The most important part of adding fractions is to keep the denominator the same for all of the fractions. Now, how would I do the 1st problem and how do you know?
  • 1/2 + 1/2 = ? 1/4 + 2/4 = ? 3/4 + 1/2 = ? 3/8 + 2/4 = ?
  • So the most important thing to remember is to keep the denominator the same.  How about we do the 1st one together? What does it equal and how to we represent it with a shape?
  • A little while later...
  • Good job!!
  • 1 and 1/4!
  • Alright class, now that you've learned how to add fractions, what does 1/2 + 3/4 equal?
