In ancient Greece they did not want any other religious influences on their people, so they would take all books about other religions and burn them. Princess Echo did not like this and disobeyed King Stephan's ruling.
Echo is the princess of Acropolis. She is very prideful and a selfish. Her best friend is Alcibiade, and her father is the King. Everyone loves her.
Echo rescues books from a Christian book burning, to learn more about other gods. Echo's best friend, Alcibiades, tells King Stephen of her crimes, she thinks she won't get punished by her father.
Echo had everything she ever wanted and one selfish mistake will ruin it all because her father is not as forgiving and loving as she thought. He spreads the news of her crimes and tell everyone of her impending doom.
When the public finds out about her stealing the books, they begin to hate her and spit on her as she walks through the streets and when her father makes her death date a final thing, she knows that there is nothing she can do about her horrendous future.
Eventually Echo excepts her death, but does not regret taking the books, for they gave her great knowledge in the end and she will die, going to the afterlife that she chooses to believe in.
