I have a job for you, Daedalus, and your son can come too.
Yes, I will pay you both very well if the job is done.
Will you pay us well if we accept your offer?
Okay, we are done with the job. Pay us and we shall be on our way.
Actually, you have to stay, You are the ones that know the maze.
It's comfortable in here but it still is a prison, there has to be a way out.
King Minos (Ruler of Crete) summoned a famous inventor named Daedalus and his son to perform a job for King Minos.
There is not possibly a way to get off the island, what are we going to do? Fly?
...maybe there is a way...
After Daedalus finished the job, he expected the pay that was promised, but King Minos didn't want him to leave since Daedalus is the only person that knows the secret of the maze.
King Minos kept the two in a very tall tower with many luxurious options but Daedalus was not happy living the life of a prisoner.
Icarus wondered how anyone could possibly get off the island when they are stuck in a tall tower. Daedalus realized that the birds he had been watching could fly and that the birds were (supposedly) the only ones that could get off the island.
Daedalus spent early mornings and late nights over the course of a year working on his invention. Daedalus had to be very quiet during the time he was creating the invention since he doesn't want to be caught by King Minos.
Daedalus had finally completed his invention, told Icarus about it and they were soaring through the skies, away from the island of Crete.
