1897: Millicent Fawcett founds the National Union of Woman Suffrage, and most of the women who joined the society were of middle class. These women all had different ideas to protest and their methods of protesting. This. later formed the WSPU, which took more military action. NUWSS hosted their procession in 1907

1912: Millitant Suffragettes a part of the NUWSS took their protesting to physical extremes and destroyed private homes. They did this because this pressure on the British government to recognize their demands without hurting anyone. Their actions were met with prison time for women and was considered a step back for women.
1918-1928: Women over 30 were given the right vote in 1918 and were able to own property. In 1928 however, women were able to vote at the age of 21, this was a huge improvement for women, and what they had been fighting for.
