  • You "undesirables" are stealing our jobs!
  • But I would never...
  • Go back to your country!
  • Daddy don't leave me!
  • English Canadian does not let Japanese Canadian, Haru Nakamura, work.
  • I am so hungry!!!
  • Newspaper Headline: *Japan attacks Pearl Harbour, Is Canada Next?*
  • Don't worry... Everything is going to be okay.
  • Haru's family is separated, in preparation to be sent to internment camps for the remainder of the war.
  • At least we are together again.
  • Haru is given very little food, and is forced to live in horrible living conditions while in internment.
  • Meanwhile, his wife tries to raise the kids on her own.
  • After the war has finished, Haru and his family are reunited, but decide to the leave Canada and return to Japan.
