  • The French Revolution began in 1789 and ended a year lateen 1799. In the 1700s France was considered the most advance country in Europe.
  • Tennis Court Oath
  • We shall stay here until we make a constitution!!
  • 1.Growing resentment among lower classes 2.New ideas about Government 3.Serious economic problems 4.Week indecisive leadership 5.Food Shortage
  • The Storming of the Bastille
  • During these meeting the each estate general would get one vote of there estate so the first estate had one vote the second had one vote and the third with 97% of people have on vote.

  • The National Assembly found out they were locked out of there meeting room. That did not stop them as they went to the indoor tennis court and pledged to not leave until the made a constitution.
  • The third estate started to gather weapons and defend Paris. On July 14th a group searched for gunpowder and things to help them fight in Bastille which was Paris's prison. July 14th is now known as Bastille day because it was a symbolic act of revolution for the French.
  • The Great Fear is when there was so much panic and fear in France that the peasants were becoming outlaws. The peasants would burn houses and documents anything that tied them with France.
