After the Japanses attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 ( "A day that will live in infamy."), President Franklin D. Roosevelt requests and receives a declaration of war against Japan.
Mass mobilization efforts go into effect; The US mobilization effort focused on industry producing massive amounts of war goods including arms, ammunition, ships, tanks, jeeps and airplanes.
Mass mobilization helped to employ as many people as possible, including women, to work in factories.
