Storyboard Text

  • The citizens live under harsh control of the government.
  • The Seashell radio said to look outside, I wonder if Montag is outside our door!
  • The government's intentions were originally good.
  • If we get rid of individual thinking in the society, nobody will rebel!
  • That will work, and the society will be happy!
  • The main character questions the good in the society.
  • The government controls much of what the citizens do. Bradbury created this element by making the government embark on total conformity. They were encouraged to think that everything the government did was right.
  • The government originally wanted all thinking and reading to go away in fear of an individual going against the government to avoid conflict, but this made everyone too reliant on the government and there was not much individuality in the society.
  • After Montag met Clarisse, he realized that he wasn't happy and that emotion was missing from the society. He connected this to the fact that there was no room for thinking in the society
