The Heros Journey of Theseus
Theseus is enjoying his place as hero, prince, and heir to the throne of Athens.
The young Theseus finds out that every few years, young Athenians must be sent off to the island of Crete to be sacrificed to the man-eating Minotaur, who lives in an inescapable Labyrinth.
Father, Can I Go?
Theseus convinces his father, King Aegeus, to let him go, but he doesn't encourage his son to go on the dangerous voyage.
You Know What, I Don't Even Care Anymore.
He promises Aegeus that he'll change the white sail of the ship to black on his return to Athens to show that he made it back alive.
Theseus hops on the boat with 14 young Athenians to Crete determined to slay the Minotaur and save the young people marked for human sacrifice.
Upon arrival on Crete, Theseus meets Ariadne, the daughter of the king of Crete.The beautiful maiden and Theseus fall in love. Ariadne tells him how to escape the Labyrinth by trailing string behind him.
