  • Thomas Galladet sees Alice for the first time in Front of their house.He Realizes that she is deaf, and wants to teach her how to communicate to the world by taking her to England.
  • Thomas Cogswell agrees to the trip. Galladet and Alice travel to England to see Braidwood Academy.
  • 'signing yes'
  • WHAT!
  • would you like to go back to America with boys?
  • Braidwood Academy wanted Alice and Galladet to stay for five years,and to not teach anything they were taught by Braidwood. Galladet declined Braidwood, and was about to go back to America, that was when he found a flyer to see a lesson in Paris done by a Hearing sign language teacher.
  • Welcome to The American Asylum For The Deaf Dumb and Mute
  • Alice and Galladet go to the lesson and see Sicard teaching with Laurent Clerc and Jean Masseau. Galladet is intriged and wantes to be taught under Sicard. Sicard agrees.
  • Galladet tells them his idea to build a school for the deaf in America . Laurent Clerc likes the idea and decides to go with them back.
  • Once Galladet, Clerc, and the Cogwells are all together in America. They Decide to build the first School for the Deaf in Hartford Conneticut. the School is opened in 1817 and Alice is one of the very first students
