  • The Continental Army needed motivation to keep fighting in the war. The colonists had very strong patriotism. They gave up a lot to defend their families, friends, and their liberty.

  • During the Revolutionary War, the French formed an alliance with Continental Army. Marquis de Lafayette, a French general, served as General to the Continental Army.
