  • A deadly disease that spread around medieval Europe
  • Higher demand for money and rights. There was a shift of power from the nobles to commoners. People moved to find better opportunities. All of the factors above lead to the decline of feudalism.

  • The Hundred Years' War was between the English and French who fought a series of battles for control over lands in France
  • One of the factors that affected feudalism during the time of these wars is: the shift of power from feudal lords to monarchs and to common people.

  • A document where all free men, including the king had to follow the law

  • Magna Carta was the idea of rights and liberties that even a monarch cannot violate. It also affirmed that monarchs should rule with the advice of the governed. The Magna Carta strengthened English common law and the role of judges and juries. It gave people more of a voice in the government.

  • A group of people under 1 government, with definite territorial borders, common culture & language
  • The nation states game the commoners and nobles more of a voice in their separate goverent where they weren't all ruled by one king
