  • I would like to go on for an adventure. I heard the people there are kind.
  • Makato decided to try  his fortune. He left his village and walked along cheerfully. after a month's journey, he reached a village on the frontier of Sukothai.   Then he met a woman and asked for a water. And sooner, he workes for her to have a place and food.
  • Once upon a time, there was a boy named Makato. His father and mother died when he was young, he had no siblings nor relatives.  He did every kind of work and never idled over it. His employers always praise him for his work 
  • What are you thinking, my boy?
  • It's called Sukothai. They say PraRuang of Sukothai is a kindhearted king.
  • One day Makato met PraRuang itself and bowed low before him. 
  • He went to the market and bought some lettuce seeds.
  • When the king was walking away, Makato saw a cowrie shell. He ran to pick it and was grateful when the king gave it to him.
  • How many seeds do you want to buy?
  • Let me put my wet finger in the seeds and the seeds that will stck to my finger will be mine.
  • The king asked the old mahout about the boy. He learned some informations about him. "Take good care of him." Said the king.
  • Okay, my boy.
  • Makato planted the seeds and after a month, the seeds grew and the biggest lettuce was given to the king by Makato.
  • The king was so glad that he made Makato as his right hand. Makato grew up handsome and he married the king's daughter.
  • The king was amazed and Makato tells the whole story.
