  • Battle of Fort Sumter
  • First Battle of Bull Run
  • Battle of Shiloh
  • The Battle of Fort Sumter was a 34 hour battle. The Confederates bombarded the Union Fort and Abraham Lincoln tried to send supplies. But in the end the Union surrendered so the Confederate Army won this battle.
  • Battle of Antietam
  • The Battle of Bull Run was the battle that made the North realize the war was not going to be an easy win. The Confederates were unorganized for this battle but they still won. One of the major factors for why they won is the Union Army was made up of volunteers.
  • Battle of Fredericksburg  
  • The Battle of Shiloh was a surprise attack on the Union Army.  Even though the Confederates won this battle. There were 23,000 casualties and both sides were shocked about the amount a violence.
  • Battle of Chickamauga
  • The Battle of Antietam took place on a farm. It was a 12 hour battle. Confederate soldiers were sick and starving and there were 23,000 casualties.This battle was a victory for the Union.  
  • The Battle of Fredericksburg took place in Fredericksburg, Virginia and had over 18,000 casualties. In this battle there were nearly 200,000 combatants. The Battle of Fredericksburg was a hard loss for the Union.
  • The Battle of Chickamauga was the second costliest battle of the Civil War. There were 16,170 Union and 18,454 Confederate casualties and in the end the Confederates won this battle
