Sanger Rainsford, a big game hunter, falls off of his boat, and ends up on Ship-Trap Island.
Sanger Rainsford was befriended by fellow big game hunter General Zaroff, and his mute apprentice Ivan.
Zaroff explains to Rainsford that he dislikes big game hunting hunting, and prefers hunting people. Rainsford wants to leave, but Zaroff challenges him to play his game.
Rainsford and Zaroff play a game of cat and mouse. Rainsford sets various traps that stall Zaroff, kill his best dog, and kill Ivan.
Rainsford dupes Zaroff into thinking that he fell off a cliff and died.
Rainsford surprise attacks Zaroff, and defeats him.
