  • I have a plan to stop the South from rebelling!
  • Emancipation Proclamation Whereas, on the twenty-second day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two, a proclamation was issued by the President of the United States, containing, among other things, the following, to wit:
  • Look what I wrote!
  • We won't surrender
  • The South was in a rebellion to keep slaves and Lincoln was going to stop them
  • January 1st
  • We're free!!
  • Lincoln drafted a document called the Emancipation Proclomation
  • I give up!
  • The document stated that all slaves in confederate states would be freed if the South didn't end the rebellion, but the CSA still didn't surrender.
  • I win!!!1111!!!!1
  • So, on January 1st the next year, all slaves in Confederate states were frees!
  • Two years later, Lee surrendered at Appomattox courthouse, ending the war!
