Storyboard Text
It's almost Christmas and Della only has $1.87. She doesn't have anything to give to Jim, her husband. Della was sad that she has nothing to give to Jim so she starts crying.
Exposition
With only $1.87, Della goes to the barber shop to sell her hair so she has more money.
Conflict
Della went to many stores before this one & finally found the perfect gift for Jim. A golden chain that would go perfectly with his golden watch that was from his grandfather.
A gold chain that'll match Jim's gold watch!
Rising Action
Isn't it wonderful Jim? Now, get your watch out and lets see how they look.
Della & Jim gave their Christmas presents to each other. Jim gave Della a beautiful comb with jewels. Della gave Jim a gold chain.
Climax
Della and Jim get their presents but those are no use to them because they each sold the item the presents were meant to go with. The comb was meant for Della's long hair but she sold her hair. The chain was meant for Jim's gold watch but he sold the watch.
These things are no use to us right now so let's put them away.
Falling Action
Della & Jim put away their presents for now. Later on in life they will pick them up again when they need it.
I have my gold watch! I'm gonna get my gold chain.
