  • Today we are going to learn aboult how to launch a satellite into earths orbit.
  • First we have to study aboult the different forces that apply to various objects in outer space
  • In conclusion; the satellite orbits orbits earth due to a net force caused by gravity . This in turn creates inward or centripetal force. We have also learned that tangential velocity within the satellite is caused by this orbit .tangential velocity is the velocity measured at any point tangent to a turning wheel / circle or in this case (orbit of the the earth)
  • The question that we must ask ourselves is .....what do we have to do to maintain the uniform circular motion of the satellite? Which is the motion of an object in a circle at a contant speed around earth .
  • After doing our research we soon realized that the planets and other orbital bodies are considered natural satalites ; and the forces governing them also apply to our satellite.
  • In order for our satellite to orbit the earth ; the satellite would have to travel a horizontal distance of 8000 meters before falling at vertically at 5 meters. Since the earth has a curve . The distance of the satilite above the earth would remain the same.
