Storyboard Text

  • Chapter 9 / Pages 177 - 178
  • Long day. But, time to go home.
  • Alarm
  • Chapter 9 / Page 178
  • Chapter 9 / Page 178
  • Mission Street
  • ???
  • Chapter 9 / 177 / "Bios flashed, computer restored, trolls locked out, I shut off all the lights at Joe for Senate, shrugged on my jacket, set the burglar alarm, and stepped out into the cool night of Mission.
  • Chapter 9 / Page 178
  • Mission Street
  • Marcus, we'd like to talk to your for a moment.
  • And straight into the arms of the goons who'd been waiting for me in the parked van across the street.
  • Chapter 9 / Page 178
  • I'd also like to see your badge again.
  • Mission Street
  • I've been snatched twice. This was not the roughest of the lot (that would be when the DHS grabbed us off Market Street the day the Bay Bridge blew and clubbed us in the head when we asked what was going on.)
  • Chapter 9 / Pages 178 - 179

  • Mission Street
  • The other closed the distance between me and him in three quick steps, coming right into my personal space, flipping a laminated DHS ID out of his pocket. Before I could look at it, he'd put it back in his pocket, as neat as a magician vanishing a card.
  • When in trouble or in doubt...
  • I'd like to have a lawyer present.
  • Scream and shout... No one in Mission is going to come running if you scream "Help!" but everyone likes to get a good look at a fire. Maybe I should have tried "HELP!"
  • FIRE!
