¨Mother to Daughter¨ By : Yang Hee Eun Brian Le Dylan Phan Period 3, Mrs. Watson
Tone: Passionate Mood: Sorrowful Theme: Mothers want the best for us and nothing more. They want us to succeed and always do our best.
I don´t want to hurt myself further.
Can´t you see I´m trying?
I know how important that is too.
Always be kind.
¨I thought I had just closed my eyes for a brief second... I thought you would always always be a little child but you're already grown"(Eun 2-5). She is describing how fast her daughter had grown up in the blink of an eye.
¨ You don´t even know how I feel. You just keep pestering me with that same nagging... Please leave me alone. Why are you treating me like a child,¨(Eun 25-30). The mother wants her daughter to stay a little child and keeps treating her like one but the daughter doesn't like it.
(Eun 21-24). The daughter finds everything that the mother wants her to do, and to be very annoying. She knows these things already, and she knows what is important for her. She gets angry at her mother for pestering her and repeating these things over and over to her.
¨I feel like a bird trapped inside a cold cage. I feel so constricted¨(Eun 27-38)
"I'm sorry mother. Even though I never say it, I know you are the best mom I could have"(Eun 26). She shows she loves her mother even if she pesters her. "I want to be a motherlike you someday"(Eun 47). She says she thinks her mother is a good one and wishes to be a mother like her.
