I have sustained serious injuries due to the lack of a wet floor sign, causing me to slip and fall. I would not have broken my back, cracked my ribs or gotten a concussion if the employee had put a sign up.
No one made me aware of the wet floor and I could not leave the counter unattended, therefor I did not up the wet floor sign up.
Because of the act of negligence, the store did not fulfill its duty of care by making customers aware of the wet floor. This is what causes the plaintiffs injuries and the court will award the plaintiff $600 000 for the medical costs and injuries that the plaintiff sustained.
