One day, the narraters friend Rodrick Usher wrote him a letter telling him to come help him overcome his that he had been expierencing. When he got there he noticed his mansion was in harsh condition
Usher revealed to the narrator that his twin sister had recently died. He still had not buried her so he put her into a vault. The narrator notices that her cheeks are still red. Ushers mind of state worsens
Shortly after Usher placed her into the vault they began to hear strange noises. Usher came into the narrator's room and he was also scared. He began reading to Usher to calm him down.
She jumps on Usher and Usher dies from fear. Then the narrator flees the house
The narrator continues to read, the sounds he reads began to echo in the house. Usher tips his chair and begins rocking back and forth. He thinks he buried his sister alive, seconds later Madeline opens the door and he is covered in blood
The narrator watches the house disappear and collapse into the fog
