Leilani"s Plant Cell Story Board
There are many organelles found in the plant cell, and I am here to help and explain them all to you. I am going to tell you all organelles found in Plant and Animal Cells.
One of the organelles, is the nucleus. The nucleus is in charge of telling the other organelles what to do. They nucleus also contains all DNA that will be passed on to offspring. The nucleus will tell the mitochondria to generate energy for the cell called ATP. The nucleus will also tell the lysosomes to release their enzymes to eat and destroy waste in the cell. The nucleus will also tell the chloroplast in plant cells to make food for the plant cell. Important!!! Chloroplast are only found in plant cells!!!
Another organelle, is the mitochondria. These organelles are nicknamed the "Power Houses" of the cell. The mitochondria generates energy for the cell. The mitochondria will power the lysosomes to get rid of waste. And the left over materials will be stored to the vacuole (A SINGLE LARGE VACUOLE IS FOUND IN PLANT CELLS, AND THERE ARE MULTIPLE SMALLER VACUOLES FOUND IN ANIMAL CELLS), which needs energy to properly function.
There is a jelly like substance that fills plant and animal cells. The substance is called cytoplasm. The cytoplasm creates a safe housing for the organelles that make energy, get rid of waste, and obtain nutrients.
The cell membrane is the outermost layer of the animal cell, and the second most outer layer of the plant cell. The cell membrane will split in two when the cell is reproducing. The cell membrane surrounds the mitochondria that makes energy, and the vacuole that stores waste and nutrients.
Lysosomes are the organelles that clean up and dispose of the waste in the cell. The lysosomes clean up the call, when it is preparing to reproduce. The lysosomes release enzymes to eat and destroy the waste in the cell. The lysosomes are powered by the mitochondria. The waste will be sent out of the cell, and some will be sent to the vacuole to get stored.
There is another organelle called the chloroplast. The chloroplast are only found in a plant cell. The chloroplast make food for the cell, by absorbing the energy from the sun, by using a process called photosynthesis. The mitochondria produce energy to power the chloroplast so they can undergo the process of photosynthesis.
Another Organelle in plant and animal cells, is the Vacuole. There is a single large vacuole in the plant cell, and multiple smaller vacuoles in the animal cells. The vacuole stores food, water, waste, and nutrients that the cell need. The vacuole stores energy made by the mitochondria, and the waste that is cleaned up by the lysosomes.
