  • CLIMAX

  • FALLING ACTION

  • It's Charlie. He killed Pete Van Horn

  • After the crowd suspects Steve, a shadowy figure appears and Charlie shot him with Don's rifle. It ended up being Pete Van Horn and now Charlie is accused.
  • It's the monster! It's the monster!
  • A shotgun? Wil anybody think a thought around here! What good will a shotgun do?
  • You're going to talk us into a grave, Steve!
  • The lights switch from house to house and there is yelling from the crowd. People shouting all at the same time the names of who is to blame.

  • Are you all gone crazy? Stop!
  • It's Les Goodman! His car started!
  • The end of the story, where the aliens, who were tampering with Maple Street, concludes that the residents on Maple Street destroyed themselves. It tells the meaning of the story, that prejudices are worse than weapons.
