The two groups met fishing off the east coast. Many different European countries were involved in the trading. Trading was a win-win for both the FN and Europeans. Trading was mainly with the Mi'kmaq.
Phase 4- British Control
The French partnered with the Ouendat, who took the trades to the more western First Nations. The Ouendat was wiped out by the Haudenosaunee, then France and the Haudenosaunee had a war.
Phase 5- Decline
The Hudson Bay Company was made to go against the French Trading company. The French started to have voyageurs taking supplies around trading posts. They also used the Cree and Nakoda as middlemen as a result of moving west.
About this storyboard
French Trading Company
New France became a British Colony, so the Trading Companies also merged, but then some British and French created the North West Company, another trading company. Land also became a want for the entire colony. Pemmican also became a major trade in both of the companies.
The trading went down as a result of less buffalo, beaver and demand of furs in Europe. Both the NWC and HBC merged to become one company. FN also had to move because the food supply in that area went down. Trading posts also became permanent settlements, so I can imagine some people moving in.
Hello there! This storyboard is an assignment for Social Studies 7. I did this using basic. You can purchase the Premium to make the program better. I think it would be much better, but I was told not to purchase it because we didn't need it. Have fun with your own Storyboards!
