  • Scene 1
  • "Ay, ay a scratch, a scratch. Marry 'tis enough. Where is my page?--Go, villain, fetch a surgeon."
  • Scene 2
  • "'Romeo is banished.' To speak that word Is father, mother, Tybalt, Romeo, Juliet, All slain, all dead."
  • Scene 3
  • "A gentler judgment vanished from his lips: Not body's death, but body's banishment."
  • "Ha, banishment? Be merciful, say 'death,' For exile hath more in his look, Much more than death. Do not say 'banishment'."
  • Tybalt and Mercutio battle in the street, resulting in Mercution falling to his death.
  • Scene 4
  • "Sir Paris, I will make a desperate tender Of my child's love. I think she will be ruled In all respects by me."
  • The nurse is sharing the news of Romeo being banished from Verona. Juliet is devastated by the news.
  • Scene 5
  • "Good father, I beseech you on my knees, Hear me with patience but to speak a word."
  • "Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o' Thursday."
  • Friar Lawrence is sharing the news to Romeo that he will not be put to death, rather banished from Verona.
  • The Capulet's are planning the marriage between Juliet and Paris, promising him they will be wed on Thursday.
  • Juliet is begging her parents to cancel the arranged marriage, but they will follow through with their plans.
