Storyboard Text

  • *Saloma walks away* Vinod often had this problem. But he went over to Saloma again and explained to her that he wasn't going to harm her. After a while Saloma warmed up to him and told him her name.
  • Saloma did not like the way Vinod was forcing her to speak. She was saying everything she wanted to say. It's just that nobody could hear....except her.
  • What?
  • Good. Now say 2 words.
  • Vinod and Saloma spent the rest of the evening talking. Saloma listened. And listened. At times, she watched his lips move- the different shapes that it made. She watched his eyes. The sadness behind them.
  • adds to his personality/character - shows how Vinod is so expressive and he comes across as intimidating ( he blabbers a lot to the point where people have the mindset that he'll harm them)
  • No. Saloma wanted to say no. But it's just a phone call. And he had been very nice the whole evening. He wouldn't be like Azman.
  • Adds to the theme of mental illness - hints at her mental disorder, Schizophrenia. Hearing voices is the most common type of hallucination in people with Schizophrenia. Additionally, showing that she has trouble vocalising her thoughts and opening up, hence this also adds to her character.
  • Great. I know! We both exchange phone numbers. Then I'll call you later (makes a gesture) Friends?
  • Saloma character analysis : although she doesn't speak much, she is observant and attentive towards Vinod's actions. Vinod : hints to Vinod's mental illness, depression? Vinod tries to hide his mental illness. One would think that Vinod is happy due to his expressive personality but in reality, that is not the case. He hides his issues behind his personality. ( sense of irony )
  • Introduction of Azman adds to the plot development of play. The fact that she's thinking about Azman shows the scarring impact he had on her and how she was evidently hurt and apprehensive. This adds to her bundle of issues and shows that she had a past.    ( character development )
  • Can I call you afterwards? I don't like to sleep. Waste of- can i call you?
  • Adds to their friendship development, and plot development. The said gesture (pinky promise) symbolises the formation of their friendship.
