At the start of the Jazz Age alcohol was banned because of the 14th Amendment. People were against the ban of the substance and created ways to obtain alcohol. Speakeasies (secret bars/pubs) were developed along with organized crime mobs.
F. Scott Fitzgerald was one of the primary spokespeople of the Jazz Age. He understood the people of the new generation and became one of the most famous writers in American History.
During prohibition organized crime came about. The Mafia (American Gangsters) trafficked illegal liquor during the time of prohibition. They also made and controlled private distribution systems.
The roaring 20's(also known as the jazz age) had a great admiration for new music. No one knows where it really came from but people loved.
