  • Newtons First Law
  • Newtons Second Law
  • Newtons first law states that an object will keep moving until another force affects it. Right now the ball is affected by gravity and air resistance which keeps the ball from flying into space.
  • The blue boy is a force acting upon the ball, causing it to stop
  • Newtons Third Law
  • Newtons second law states that force equals mass times acceleration. Here we see the red boy kick a light ball hard and this means that the force put upon the ball is high.
  • Here the red boy kicks a very heavy ball just as hard, but it doesn't accelerate as much and therefore there isn't as much force to move the ball further.
  • Newtons third law of motion states that every action has a equal and opposite reaction.
  • When the ball hits the crossbar, then it stops because the force pushing the ball is the same force that the crossbar pushes on the ball.
