Thermonuclear Reactions, Radiation, Electromagnetic Waves Comic Strip Assignment
Hmm..something involving the sun
Mike why do you think the ice is melting?
In the Sun's interior a thermonuclear fusion reaction converts the hydrogen into helium releasing huge amounts of energy.
The absorbed energy is converted back to heat, which causes the Earth to warm up.
The energy created by the fusion reaction is converted into thermal energy (heat) and raises the temperature of the Sun to levels.
Enabling the transfer of heat through a process known as radiation.
The solar heat energy travels through space in the form of electromagnetic waves.
The effective temperature of Earth is much lower than what we experience. The difference is in the effect of the heat absorbing components, this is the greenhouse effect.
Ohhh, now I get it!
Electromagnetic waves are the self-propagating, mutual oscillation of electric and magnetic fields.
