America's political beginnings began with English influences, for example their ideas of gov't were that it should be limited with restricted powers and representative. In Great Britain the Magna Carta took power from the king and protected people's rights.
ORGANIZATION OF COLONIES Most of the colonies were bicameral and one was unicameral with one house legislature. The colonies had to receive permission from the king to exist, they had a lot of freedom before King George.
Declaration of Independence Taxing from the King, the first continental congress, the American revolution, and intolerable acts led to the DOI.
The 13 colonies break up with King George and his rules.
Confederate states and AOC The confederate states agreed to the AOC as their central government. The AOC didn't allow people to tax or print money, it didn't enforce laws, and it didn't have a national court system.
Shay's rebellion proved that the AOC didn't work because it was powerless. It was also too weak which caused problems.
There was a constitutional convention that was held to make a new government, and the US also followed the US constitution.
